The Affair

Noah: After someone dies, I think we want to tell ourselves a story of how it was our fault, because at least it gives us some control. Juliette: I prayed for him to die, Noah. Noah: I'm sure you did, but that's not why he's dead. The Affair

The Closure

The relationship between two couples starts to crumble after the man from one of the couples engages in an affair with the woman of the other.

The Betryal

“What was there to be gained by fighting the most evil wizard who has ever existed?" said Black, with a terrible fury in his face. "Only innocent lives, Peter!" "You don't understand!" whined Pettigrew. "He would have killed me, Sirius!" "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED!" roared Black. "DIED RATHER THAN BETRAY YOUR FRIENDS, AS WE WOULD HAVE DONE FOR YOU!”  ―  J.K. Rowling ,  Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

The Misery

All the misery we have is of our own choosing; such is our nature. The old Chinaman, who having been kept in prison for sixty years was released on the coronation of a new emperor, exclaimed, when he came out, that he could not live; he must go back to his horrible dungeon among the rats and mice; he could not bear the light. So he asked them to kill him or send him back to the prison, and he was sent back. Exactly similar is the condition of all men. We run headlong after all sorts of misery, and are unwilling to be freed from them. Every day we run after pleasure, and before we reach it, we find it is gone, it has slipped through our fingers. Still we do not cease from our mad pursuit, but on and on we go, blinded fools that we are. Swami Vivekananda

The Guilt

Natural self-expression, not guilt, is a natural tendency within a human being. Guilt is something that we learn from the authority figures around us when we are young. They use it as a way to manipulate us, to make us do as we are told. At a certain point in our lives, we reach a stage where we can do the right thing without having to be told. We can then do away with that voice in our head that is telling us how terrible we are for doing what we think we shouldn't be doing. Swami Vivekananda

The Mistake

Some imaginations help to break the bondage of the rest. The whole universe is imagination, but one set of imaginations will cure another set. Those that tell us that there is sin and sorrow and death in the world are terrible. But the other set - thou art holy, there is God, there is no pain - these are good, and help to break the bondage of the others. The highest imagination that can break all the links of the chain is that of the Personal God. Swami Vivekananda

The Bliss

After every happiness comes misery; they may be far apart or near. The more advanced the soul, the more quickly does one follow the other. What we want is neither happiness nor misery. Both make us forget our true nature; both are chains-one iron, one gold; behind both is the Atman, who knows neither happiness nor misery. These are states, and states must ever change; but the nature of the Atman is bliss, peace, unchanging. We have not to get it, we have it; only wash away the dross and see it. Swami Vivekananda
